From time to time, Peeper Pond Farm takes requests for goat kids and/or adults. All of our dairy goats are registered with the American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA) and we actively test for Caprine Arthritis Encephalitis (CAE) and practice proper prevention methods. Our Oberhasli does are usually bred sometime between August and the end of December and typically give birth between February and early May in following year. We don’t necessarily breed all of our does each year, so if you are interested in purchasing a Spring kid, you must inquire and place a deposit on or before July 1 of the year prior to birth. The required deposit is $100 for a doe and $25 for a buck. The remaining fee must be paid in full immediately prior to receipt of the kid. The deposit helps offset our breeding costs. We charge only half-price for any goat kids purchased for a local 4-H or FFA student project. If your goat dies prior to transfer of ownership, we will refund your full deposit. If you do not take possession of your goat within 30 (thirty) days from our notification of birth (or without prior notification and approval of a delay in transfer), then your deposit will be forfeited and we will list the goat for sale as an “unclaimed goat.”
No advance deposit is required for the purchase of an adult or unclaimed goat.
The following list identifies the does that we plan to breed in the fall and/or the adults/unclaimed goats that we have for sale…
1. Billy The Kid
Our first goat sale is a pure-bred Oberhasli buck born to Emerald on April 10, 2017. Billy has been fed by his mother and is not recommended for dairy goat breeding. He would make a good meat goat breeder or a potential meat goat. We have priced him at $75.00 with no advance deposit. He will be ready for sale around mid-June.
